Antje Wörner heads the department of "Thermal Process Technology" at the Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics at DLR in Stuttgart, Germany. The research activities of her department are directed towards the development of thermal energy storage systems for industrial and power plant applications. Process development and techno-economic evaluation of power-to-fuels concepts are also part of her research activities.
She prosecuted her master's degree in chemical engineering at Stuttgart University, Auburn University and Imperial College. Her PhD on solar reforming of methane was awarded from Stuttgart University. She has a responsible role in various national and international networks on energy storage and in the German Helmholtz Research Programm "Storage and cross-linked Infrastructures".
